A couple of days back when I went to pick up Ira at school her class teacher asked me to wait. After all the children had left she told me that Ira had been selected to deliver the speech for Independence day and that I would need to write a few lines as well as prepare her. Ira of course was excited. Here’s the piece I wrote for her
Good morning and a very happy Independence Day to all. My name is Ira Khan and I will speak about Independence day.
- For 200 years India was ruled by the British
- We finally got freedom from British rule on 15 August 1947
